Working At Amazon
No matter what you do, do it well.
Every day, Amazon ships thousands of products to its customers. All customers expect their orders to arrive on time and without any issues that would necessitate returns.
Everyday thousands of products are shipped from a single warehouse.
Working at Amazon and observing the intricacies of its system reminds me of my time as an electrical engineer in Mexico. Back then, I always strived to work efficiently and without errors.
Even many people look unhappy working at Amazon, as a professional, I consider that it is the ideal system. It takes you step by step in everything you do, so, you don´t stop, you just keep working. Reason of what in my case, I can pick from 300 to up 460 items per hour. The productivity depends on many factors, but there is an average of 340 per hour.
Beyond working fast, quality has always been important to me. Quality on Amazon is based on not making mistakes, mistakes you do because you are not focused or paying attention. So, I always try to make sure about what I am doing or even doing a double check of what I did.

Going back to the times when I started working as an engineer, depending on my activity: making calculations, preparing reports, supervising personnel, verifying gasoline or material consumption, or preparing memoranda for my boss’ signature, among other things, I always created a small program in the old Visual Basic or FoxPro, or a spreadsheet with formulas and functions to manipulate all the information generated. What is now called “Data Analytics”. In addition to trying to have a clean desk, but having everything essential to work: a pen, a pencil, a notebook, etc.
The above always helped me to have reports and inform on time, and it seemed that I had no workload. While other colleagues seemed to have an overload of work and did the same thing repetitively every day, I put technology to work for me, and of course avoiding making many mistakes.
